Audiobooks have saved my drive time.
My Story
The radio was getting to be no good. I was sick of the mortgage company ads. I didn't want to hear the same old songs anymore. I listened to talk radio and just couldn't take always having to be mad at someone. It was getting me down. I don't need the amount of news I have access to today. I don't need all the stuff they try to sell me. How did I escape? I discovered my tape deck. It hadn't been used in years. My drive time is only between 20 and 30 minutes, but in that short time I am able to listen to many books. I am addicted to audiobooks. I thought I never had time to get through my large book list. But I was wrong... I had been waisting time in my car for years. No more.
The Public Library Rocks!
Most books I get at the Public Library. The library is your friend. Use it. Putting the books you want on reserve is easy. They email me when they are in and I pick them up. Easy as 1-2-3. If the local library doesn't have it they will get it for me via InterLibrary Loan. It can take some time, but they eventually come.
Go Bookcrossing, Go!
For added fun and adventure audiobooks can also be found via Bookcrossing. If you are not familar with Bookcrossing.com check them out. Then check out my Bookcrossing bookshelf.
The Twin Cities Audiobook Club
To more easily get connected with other audiobook lovers in my area, I created the Twin Cities Audiobook Club. This club allows the members to gather and swap, trade and discuss the audiobooks they have been listening to.
